WALKING WALKING WALKING

Just Walk.!! just walk!!

 Walking 30 minutes a day cuts the rate of people becoming diabetic by more than half and it cuts the risk of people over 60 becoming diabetic by almost 70 percent.

 Walking cuts the risk of stroke by more than 25 percent.

 Walking reduces hypertension. The body has over 100,000 miles of blood vessels.

Those blood vessels are more supple and healthier when we walk.

 Walking cuts the risk of cancer as well as diabetes and stroke.


 Women who walk have a 20 percent lower likelihood of getting breast cancer and a 31 percent lower risk of getting colon cancer.


 Women with breast cancer who walk regularly can reduce their recurrence rate and their mortality rate by over 50 percent.

 The human body works better when we walk. The body resists diseases better when we walk, and the body heals faster when we walk.

 We don’t have to walk a lot.  Thirty minutes a day has a huge impact on our health.


 Men who walk thirty minutes a day have a significantly lower level of prostate cancer. 

  Men who walk regularly have a 60 percent lower risk of colon cancer.

 For men with prostate cancer, studies have shown that walkers have a 46 percent lower mortality rate.

 Walking also helps prevent depression, and people who walk regularly are more likely to see improvements in their depression.

 In one study, people who walked and took medication scored twice as well in 30 days as the women who only took the medication.

 Another study showed that depressed people who walked regularly had a significantly higher level of not being depressed in a year compared to depressed  people who did not walk. 

The body generatesendorphins when we walk. Endorphins help us feel good.

Walking strengthens the heart. Walking strengthens bones.

Walking generates positive neurochemicals. Healthy eating is important but dieting can trigger negative neurochemicals and can be hard to do.

When we walk every day, our bodies are healthier and stronger. 

A single 30 minute walk can reduce blood pressure by five points for over 20 hours.
Walking reduces the risk of blood clots in your legs.

People who walk regularly have much lower risk of deep vein thrombosis.

People who walk are less likely to catch colds, and when people get colds,  walkers have a 46 percent shorter symptom time from their colds.

Walking improves the health of our blood, as well. Walking is a good boost of high density cholesterol and people with high levels of HDL are less likely to have heart attacks and stroke.

Walking significantly diminishes the risk of hip fracture and the need for gallstone surgery is 20 to 31 percent lower for walkers.

Walking is the right thing to do. The best news is that the 30 minutes doesn’t have to be done in one lump of time.

Two 15 minute walks achieve the same goals.


Three 10 minute walks achieve most of those goals.

We can walk 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes at night and achieve our walking goals.


Walking feels good. It helps the body heal. It keeps the body healthy.

It improves our biological health, 

our physical health, 

our psychosocial health, and helps with our emotional health.

 Walking can literally add years entire years to your life.

Its good to walk.

AN EYE OPENER!!

When the angel of death came to Paul, to accompany him to his real home, Paul dismissively responded “I am not ready to die as I have so much left to do. Do you mind coming back later?”

The Angel replied, sorry your time is up and we must leave now.
Paul enquired, “Don’t you know who I am? I am Joe Smith, one of the richest men in the world.

The Angel nodded “I know all about you as I do everyone else; now hurry along, let’s go.”
Paul pleaded; “if I were to give you 10% of my fortune, which is over a billion dollars, will you turn a blind eye and return a year later?”
The Angel shook his head and replied, “You don’t seem to understand Paul. It is time to go”
For the next few moments, Paul tried his best to negotiate with the angel giving away more of his fortune for lesser time. He finally succumbed and offered “if I were to give you all my fortune, which is 10 billion dollars, will you give me 5 minutes so that I can call my wife and children and tell them that I love them? I have never told them this and it is very important to me that they know how I feel about them. I also need to seek forgiveness from 2 people that I have hurt the most. All I ask is 5 minutes!”
The Angel paused and looked at Paul curiously and asked, “How long did it take you to make your 10 billion dollars?”
Paul replied, “30 years my friend – it took me a whole 30 years – it’s a great deal in exchange for 5 minutes, take it – you will never have to work another day in your life. “
The Angel shook his head and said “I really do not understand you human beings! If you are willing to give up 30 years of your lives’ work for 5 minutes, then why did you not make the most of every minute while you had it? How did you value your time? Where were your priorities? Why did you not say or do the things that really mattered?”
The lights went off a second later, Paul was gone. His 10 billion dollars could not buy him the time to do what really mattered.

WHY HINDUS ARE A "HAPPY PEOPLE"?

George Harrison once said, “Through Hinduism Ifeel a better person. I just got happier and  happier.” 


There are many reasons why Hindus are so contented, but I’ll point out some of the important reasons I  believe that Hindus are happier than most people of many other religions.
One important reason is that Hindus don’t pursue love, which is sometimes lust,  but they follow dharma. That means taking care  of the family and society. But an even more important reason is that Hindus believe in  Reincarnation (karma), which means every human being is at a different level of consciousness so they have different needs in spirituality. 

Hinduism provides this as it gives complete freedom of thoughts and beliefs. There are some Hindus who are happy doing pujas and others are happy doing yagnas, some are happy just doing meditation while others are atheist. There are some who like to go on pilgrimages, while others are happy not having to go  to Temple. Some like to read spiritual books or believe in no form for God. Some Hindus enjoy going to Temple or Satsang while others like to follow and worship a Guru. People of different levels of consciousness are all happy doing their thing.

This diverse way of spirituality does not exist in  monoistic religions for example Islam and Christianity which has only one God, one name, one book, and only one way to worship on the same day. Hindus not only have many spiritual books but there are some still being written. Hindus are also happy because they respect and love people of all religions, and  believe in non-violence. Hindus not only worship murtis (idols) but they can worship man as God as well. This variety of spiritualism makes man very happy and contented. Some Hindus complain that  Hindus do too much murti pujas.This freedom is like a democracy, everyone is happily complaining. 

If you want to be happy, become a Hindu again because variety is the spice of life. Hindus are happy at every level. Hindus believe God is one but names are many, truth is one but religions are many.  ===================================
